It's been forever, so I'll send out a small update. Someday I should start putting photos here, but that would mean actually taking photos and posting them. For some reason, since soon after our new baby (CH) started walking at 10mo, my free time has substantially dwindled. One of my good friends happens to have enough time to come watch her for a few hours a day, thank goodness, giving me time to get some work done.
Work is great! Well, other than the fact that I had to replant my Mimulus guttatus project because the growth chamber settings were off. That was a bad day. But now they're off to the races again and this time I have high hopes that we'll get nice big healthy leaves for some RNA-sequencing.
And the pawpaw project is moving along -- they've ordered some plants, and I've written protocols for inducing polyploidy in shoots and seedlings. Now all we have to do is give it a try! I'm excited to see what happens.
TM just woke up -- it's nice having a 6-yr old around to help with CH. And by the way she finally learned to ride her bike! Thank you, Pedalheads. It's marvelous.
I've been making fondant roses, a few at a time, for an Easter cake. They're easy and SO beautiful! It's nice to be able to make something pretty that doesn't take very long. Of course, when I say it doesn't take very long, that doesn't mean I have time to make 2 dozen cookies with roses on them...no, this is just for Easter.
And Yay Easter! I just love Easter.
And now the craziness starts again -- kids, kids, cleaning, kids, trying to fit in work time... yup. But I love my life.
